1. Responsible party
Walter Sisulu University (WSU BrandShop) is responsible for personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
- Identity and contact: name, email, phone, WSU student/staff number.
- Order and payment: delivery address, transaction records (card data processed by payment gateway only).
- Technical: IP address, cookies, device data — see Cookie Policy.
3. Purpose of processing
Order fulfilment, payment (including ITS and payroll), customer support, legal compliance, fraud prevention and service improvement.
4. Sharing
We share with couriers, payment processors, WSU finance/HR for institutional payments, and service providers under confidentiality agreements.
5. Retention
Records retained as required by tax, consumer and university policies, then securely deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction subject to POPIA. Contact brandshop@wsu.ac.za. Complaints may be lodged with the Information Regulator.
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures; no system is completely secure.
